Amber Workman

My journey to health and happiness really began the moment I discovered Functional Medicine. Through Functional Medicine, I had some additional testing done that isn’t done in most medical offices, and I was given a diagnosis and able to work with a provider who valued a therapeutic partnership. I felt such relief knowing someone was going to help me work through these health challenges I’d faced for years and that we would be addressing the root cause of disease rather than just the symptoms. I truly believe in lifestyle changes as they have improved my life in so many ways like nothing else has. Always remember, YOU are your own best advocate!

I spent the majority of my life wondering why I felt so terrible when my conventional doctor told me everything was “normal.” It wasn’t until I discovered Functional Medicine that everything began to make sense. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks your thyroid. The thyroid produces hormones that coordinate many of your body’s functions. At first, I felt overwhelmed and wondered how this could be happening to me! I was so young and “healthy.” This was a turning point in my life. I could choose to listen to my doctor, who told me there is nothing I can do to feel better outside of taking a pill for the rest of my life, or I could take control of my life and commit to making significant changes. I chose my health and happiness and began researching, reading, listening to podcasts, and ultimately that is when I found Functional Medicine.

I love working with clients, sharing tools, tips, and resources. As a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach who has struggled with fatigue, gut issues, migraines, anxiety, inability to lose weight, and so on, I can say we will always put your needs and goals first. I will encourage and support you on your journey because I personally know how challenging every second of life can feel. Making diet and lifestyle changes can be challenging, but it is so worth it.
